As the law clerk for Thompson Law Firm and the newest member of our team, Will Vitkus leaves no stone unturned when solving complex problems for our clients. Will graduated Cum Laude from the University of Arizona in 2017 while simultaneously enrolled in the University’s accelerated law program. He is a 2019 J.D. Candidate. With a strong interest in trial work, Will has dedicated much of his time in law school to that pursuit. He is as comfortable in a court room as he is performing legal research and was a finalist in the Spring 2018 Richard Grand Closing Argument Competition. His personable demeanor and dedication to looking at issues from every angle has made Will an invaluable addition to our team.
Will comes from a long line of people who have accomplished much after coming from little. From this, he has learned that achieving goals requires steadfastness. He is dedicated to meeting personal and professional goals and is undeterred by setbacks: a quality that our clients appreciate, along with his directness and aptitude. As a testament to his proactive and determined nature, Will is currently a student board member of the Federal Bar Association Tucson Chapter where he performs event coordination and outreach. He is also a member of the highly-competitive Barry Davis National Trial Team, which was recently named 2018 Regional Champion.
An active member of the University of Arizona’s Prosecution Clinic, Will has worked as a law student in both the Tucson City Prosecutor’s Office and the Pima County Attorney’s Office. He has represented the State of Arizona in evidentiary hearings as well as trials and recently won a jury trial for his client in a DUI case. Will considers himself a dog with a bone when he is set on a task. He holds to the motto of the Judge Louis D. Brandeis quote, “Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done.”
