Legal Operations Manager
Kimberly Smith has been with Thompson Law Firm 1 year and in that time has established herself as a loyal and hardworking liaison for clients and partners alike. An alumnus of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, Kimberly obtained her undergraduate degree in Political Science with a minor in Historical Studies in 2009. Kimberly began working in the legal profession immediately upon graduation, serving in both a private legal firm and on the staff of the Illinois Attorney General. During her appointment in the latter position, she received the professional honor of being named the 2016 St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Rookie of the Year. Through her work at Thompson Law Firm, she has finally found the niche in which she is happiest and that best highlights her management skills.
Before joining Thompson Law Firm, Kimberly completed her master’s degree in Historical Studies. During her tenure in graduate school, she was recognized as a 2015 SIUE College of Arts and Sciences SLAM Symposium Presenter. She also won the 2014 SIUE Historical Studies Department Paper of the Year and was awarded the Weiss History Award at the College of Arts and Sciences Honors Convocation in 2015. Through her educational career, Kimberly distinguished herself as a Dean’s List Scholar and a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the American honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history.
With experience in both private and public legal offices, Kimberly is comfortable with change and believes that professional challenges are necessary for growth. She meets every experience as a learning opportunity and practices a solutions-oriented mindset. Kimberly brings a level of professionalism and thoughtfulness to all of her interactions at Thompson Law Firm in a way that strongly represents the values of the firm and our team.
